Be Your Own Advocate

When it comes to health matters, you need to be your own advocate.  There is tons of health information out there today and it can get confusing and discouraging when it comes to taking care of your health.  Here are some tips that have helped me along the way.

Start small

Start small and be patient.  Changes in the body take a long time and too many changes at once isn't sustainable.  Small changes will much easier to stay with in the long run.  Here are a few changes to start your wellness journey.

  • Schedule an hour walk in your calendar once a week
  • Cut out sugary drinks one day a week

80% food, 20% Exercise

This is the rule of thumb.  Exercise is important but the biggest impact will come from how you nourish your body. Buying and cooking quality food with quality ingredients is key.  Show your body the love it deservers by nursing it instead fo mindless eating of packaged, processed foods.
